Ken's Story
The past 5 years have almost been a blur - I can't even fathom the last 30 have already passed since our High School days!
My daughters are getting older, their interests are becoming more demanding, and the gray hair is coming on sooner than I would like! It seems like every days ends before it has a chance to get started. Some people would say this is good but I have to admit it's a little hard to think about sometimes.
In High School we always looked into the future: What do you want to do tonight, this weekend, this summer. Now we talk about: what we did last weekend, last month, or at Christmas. I don't look forward to the days when all we can do is think about what we did in High School, College, or when we were 35.
My life is good - in case you ask. I have two fabulous (some people would feel uncomfortable using that word) and gorgeous daughters and a wife is cares deeply for the family. I am satisfied with my job and have a very nice home.
Courtney - my oldest daughter (13) - is becoming quite the lady. She plays competitive soccer for the local Commonwealth club and is very busy with her friends and sports. She like music (just like her dad) and likes to cook.
Brett - my youngest daughter (11) - also play premier soccer and travels with her team 12 months out of the year. She is a fast paced kid who likes any kind of sport as long as their is competitions and excels at school. She keeps me moving - that's for sure!
My wife and I are both involved in the local soccer clubs. Stephanie is the team rep for Brett on the Lexington-FC premie...Expand for more
r team while I am the team rep for Courtney with the Commonwealth Chargers.
As if that is not enough we stay busy with several small businesses including software development, consulting, and some investments. Check out our latest project with Ourtown.com.
I took my new job with Tectura to bring a little sanity to my life. The last 15 years have been very stressful in my career in IT management. I made it as far as CIO and looked back to see I was missing all the fun with my family. Years of overtime and stress took their toll on me with weight gain and high blood pressure so I decided to put on the brakes and try something new.
My new career as a software developer is low stress and I can work from home. It's been great to be around for the girls and my wife. I am getting back into sports and challenge anyone to come to Lexington and play racquetball!
We are doing well and have a simple motto: Family FIRST. Having money and connections is great but what is it really worth when you don't have your family around to enjoy it?
Feel free to contact me - I would really like to hear from some of my old High School friends. I miss my days with George Peare, Larry Massie, Jimmy Lambert, and of course Jeff Jackson. Julie Jackson (new last name excapes me) is terrific about staying in touch and I would really like to know what ever happened to my dear old friend Annette Gentry.
You can find me on-line almost every day. Please drop me a note and tell me how you are doing.
My best to all my old and good friends and I look forward to hearing from you soon!
