Kenneth's Story
Life
I have been married to the former Judy Wilson (NHS Class of'57) for 54 years, we have 2 children, 4 granchildren, and three great-grandchildren
We have lived in Florida since August of 1966. For 26 1/2 years, I was the Fire Chief for the City of Pinellas Park, FL. I retired from the fire department on December 30, 2004.
School
In 1979, I graduated from St. Petersburg College with an A/S degree in fire administration. I attended the National Fire Academy (1984-1988) between semesters at the Univ. of So. Florida. The course work was the Executive Fire Officers Program, and I was a member of the charter class. In 2001, my biographical sketch was listed in the "Whos Who In America".
College
I attended a special program entitled: program for State and Local Government Executives at the John F. kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. During the summer of 1989. I was one of six Fire Chiefs in the United States that year to recieve a scholarship from FEMA to Harvard.
Workplace

ool, I worked at the Niles Daily Star Circulation Department. Worked briefly at Tyler's after graduation, then worked for Taube Printing Corp. in South Bend, Ind. Returned to the Daily Star as an apprentice printer, left there after 6 years. Worked at the Elkhart Truth as a printer and later as composing room forman on the night shift. Moved to Florida in August 1966 and worked 6 years at the Tampa (FL) Tribune, left there in Feb. 1972 and became a firefighter at the nearby City of Largo, FL. Rose through the ranks to the position of Deputy Fire Chief in Charge of the Paramedic Division. In July of 1978, I was hired as the Fire Chief for the City of Pinellas Prk, Fl where we live. I retired from the fire department on 12-30-04, and hold a volunteer position with the Pinellas County Fire Chiefs Association as their Executive Director, as well as working part time as a fire service consultant with the firm of JTS & Assoc. In my other spare time, I do some freelance writing for an on-line firearms magazine.
