Kenneth's Story
Life
After graduating from Westlake high school, college was the main directive and working as a waiter made it possible. First at Moorpark College then finishing-up at UCLA. After receiving a B.S. in Geology/Geophysics 1988 a job at Chevron (La Habra California) was offered but more education was required. In 1991, I married my wife Shauna and enjoyed the birth of two children in southern California (Kelsey and Austin). In 1996, I finish-up a M.Sc in Geology/Geophysics degree and packed-up the family and moved to Sumatra Indonesia working for PT Caltex. Early in 1997 we enjoyed the birth of our third and final child (Hayley). In early 2001 we enjoyed a very short stay (11 months) in the San Francisco east Bay area (San Ramon). By the end of 2001, a request was received to move the entire family to Lagos Nigeria. With all the bad press about Nigeria we loved the experience and today our family would still go back (mainly to the Chevron compound). That exp...Expand for more
erience in Nigeria lasted 3.5 years and mid 2005 we moved to Bangkok Thailand. We managed to live in Thailand until mid 2005 which time we enjoyed the summer in Utah then moved to Kuwait. Living in Bangkok we did enjoy great concerts, fantastic beaches and cheep great Thai food! At this point, we hoped to move closer to family but current economic situation says otherwise. In two years we will have our first high school graduate!!!
In 2012 it will be 30 years since graduating from Westlake High school. Funny.... attending 1 year at Manti High school vs 3 years at Westlake I tend to remember more people at a smaller high school "Manti" than Westlake. Both were great places but in the end the Conejo valley is so beautiful and pleasant it was a great place for high school either Thousand Oaks, New Berry Park or Westlake. For myself... the Conejo valley was a place where I worked hard and enjoyed many friendship but the Manti valley is where my heart resides.
