Kenneth's Story
Been married to my best friend for 64 years last Nov.
June is retired after 42 years at Soap Lake High school and was for the counselor for the District. I am retired from Hydro Power (35 yrs), People for People Transit (3 yrs), and worked as a Bailiff in the Superior Court of Grant County 10 years. Have served my community as vol. fireman, ambulance vol., City Council 21 years, Mayor 4 years, and reserve Police Officer 14 years. Active in Masonic Fraternity. Member of Eastern Star with June.
Hobbys include amateur radio, motorcycling, Rving, and grandchildren.
School
Attended West Riverside Elementary School three years in Jacksonville, Fla. Moved to Parker, Arizona Christmas Break of 1945. Attended Avondale Elementary for 4th through 6th grades and 7th and 8th grades at Mary Elizabeth Elementary in Yuma, Az. Attended Yuma Union High School and graduated in 1956. Favorite subject Music.
College

Was active in the College Concert and Marching Band, the Northern Arizona Symphony, and was tour soloist two years.
Married my Freshman year and lived in Cottage City #6 or married student housing.
Workplace
Started Career in the electric field as a groundman working construction in upstate New York in 1957. In 1959 started as a Junior Operator at the Robt. Moses Powerhouse in Massena, New York on the St.Lawrence Seaway; transferred to Niagara Falls project when it was ready to put the first generator on line. Moved to Grant county Washington in 1963 as a journeyman operator at Priest Rapids Dam and then Wanapum Dam. Promoted to Asst. Power System Dispatcher in 1967 and Senior Dispatcher in 1974. Retired after 30 years in 1993. Worked for Bechtel Eng. as a consultant on the Cowlitz Falls project until the plant was tested, operational and we had trained personel to operate. Worked for People for People as bus driver, paratransit driver and as Driver Supervisor for 3 years.
