Kenneth's Story
Life
Married for 10 years, then a single dad for 10 years. Married again and it didn't work out. Met Teresa online, then in person. By looking for Christian people to date, we found each other and are growing together in our faith and our life together. Now, there are 5 kids. Devin is a student at USI in Evansville, Tabi is married and in Kokomo, and Hollyann is in Greenwood and working to become a nurse. With Teresa, I got Mike who is now a teenager and Jacob who is finishing 2nd grade. We live in Lafayette now. Lost my Dad in May of 2003 - and I just never know what to say about that, other than it is still very hard, and I miss him. Other than that, life is good!
School
High school for me, seemed less than it was. I know better now, and have tried to pass that on to my kids. I loved school, but wanted to work.
College
IVY Tech - 3 months in Kokomo,...Expand for more
6 months in Lafayette. Took a Technical Certificate in Business Management and ran. I wanted to work. I know now that life would have been different if I had been patient enough to go for a degree and aspired to something else. But, I have gained a different knowledge by experiencing the life I have had, and wouldn't trade it. Everything that has happened in my life has led me to where I am, and that's good.
Workplace
Smiling Joe's Supermarket - 3yrs, sold life insurance for 2 1/2 yrs, fast food - 6 months. Moved to Florida, became a milkman - 4 yrs (bad accident on I-75), back to Indiana, owned a business for 2 yrs. Exide - 4 yrs, SIA - 9 mos (injury led to career change). Heilig Meyers Furniture - 5 yrs. Now, I've been in the car business as a Finance Manager (not like the ones you see on 20/20) for nearly 4 years. I love what I do at O'Brien Toyota.
