Life
After 21 years living in Petersburg Alaska and working for the U.S Forest Service, my job was abolished. I was offered a directed reassignment to Hilo Hawaii and that is where I am today. I am married, have a daughter, and a son. We lived on an island in Southeast Alask...Expand for more
a, the only way to get here is fly in on Alaska Airlines or come in by Alaska Marine Highway Ferry System.
We now live on the Big Island and they only way to get here is to fly, there are no ferries here. Gas prices topped $3.79 per gallon in October 2005, but have since dropped.
