Kevin's Story

School fav teacher section: ms mckinnon because I got to blow up hydrogen in physical science (9th grade). And she was always there on the science competitions. (2nd place in periodic table competition without studying!) Even though I had her for 1 year she was still *my* teacher. Mr Whitfield too, after 6 weeks in his physics class only missing 1 question on all the tests said something like "I can't teach you, go do the rest of the book in Independent Study, lol. So I got to hang out in the tables outside and ... goof off :p Oh and can't forget Ms Lauderdale our first computer teacher (I eventually went off to become a programmer) hmmm school memories. Writing the craziest stuff in Ms Whaley's class and getting A's on it because I stuck to the assignment (And Andy getting a bad grade trying to copy me, he didn't follow the assignment). Those parties in... Old Town? back in the woods, bonfires of old tires. Guys mudding in their 4x4s (remember one flipped over) My first experience with Mad Dog 20/20 at JB's (Sable Blade!) house. "Am I drunk?" lol Going swimming at those bauxite mines (how deep is it really?) College Auburn was a little hazy thanks to all the alcohol. finished up my degree at evening classes when i was in the military. Hmmm... college days... The Cure, Depeche Mode, etc... sort of lead me into 'different' electronic music years later. Sort of weaning off the 80s 'hair rock' and getting into alternative rock. It's been 20 years already???? My favorite drink back then... coffee cup full of rum, with pineapple juice. Then wandering off to fraternity row, usually crashing the delta tau delta parties [drink more beer] since they were just across the street and a very short stagger back. At the GF's til 4-5am, then sleeping thru classes from 8-12 (gotta love the anonymity of those huge auditoriums ZZZzzz) Somehow passing World History with a C without reading any of the plethora of books we were suppose to read. The stress of college when I actually come up against an academical challenge (shouldn't have done 19 hours every quarter). my buddy Freddy Winslett. He was interested in getting in the Air Force, so I went with him to the recruiter. He never went in, but that recruiter pestered me for 2 years, and I actually joined up (12 years, too). Weird, had I not gone with him to the recruiter, where would I be now? Everyone else, can't remember your names.... only a few. Jon. Toga party I think at his place with everybody? Too drunk to move. Seems like we called ourselves the GDI movement (god dam independent!) Going down to his home in Pensacola, at the yacht club, going sailing on like a 50 foot yacht, learning how to run the ropes. That girl named Temple? What was that club called? 2001? Working at the circulation desk at the auburn student library. This girl coming in. I was like... "Wait you look familiar, where do I know you from?" "I was in playboy college edition" dohhhh!!!! busted!!! The Foy Center... playing Gauntlet for hours on end and playing nine ball. Workplace wait, what's my title again? Business Systems Analyst or something? /shrug Military lets see. I didn't get to travel all over the world like some people, but I did get to work with some very exciting things, of which I cannot talk ever about. :( hmmmm some 'snapshots' of what I remember from each assignment: basic training... lol. It is even easier these days, I near. Summer camp. TECH SCHOOL BILOXI MISS: Ditching the base in civilian clothes in Phase 1 (always in uniform, can't le...Expand for more
ave the base.. ya right!) Weekend parties at the motel 6 and best western on the beach. Rich (Russ?) was the only one who could buy alcohol and I was the only one with a car down there (which I drove of course even before Phase 4 when we were allowed to drive). My car dragging the ground almost getting stuck on the speed bump at best western because the car was loaded full of guys and girls and entire trunk full of booze.. and hitting that bump, and armbruster yelling "not in my ass! (because there was like 8 people in my mustang) the hotel room tub full of ice and booze. Trips to Slidell, LA (we never seemed to get to New Orleans. That club called Phase 4, drinks were $1. Drinking age 18 woot! No idea how we got back safe. MAXWELL AFB: street racing in my mustang. this one time a turbo 300ZX and a classic hot rod were going to race, stopped at a red light. I was behind the 300Z and passed them both in the turning lane lol. Guy in the hot rod pulled me over, fascinated, became good friend. Wasn't single for very long here, so all the rest is .. uneventful. PATRICK AFB: (when I was single again) Mendoza, Yo! Alexx! Trip to Miami. That club we went to "The Theatre" scared Todd and Mendoza off b/c it was a fetish club! Me and Alexx went on in... funniest sight, some old man with white underwear and a ballgag in his mouth shuffling across the floor. Shifting into electronic music. Sanctuary, awesome party in ocala nat'l forest. Some live PA act with an awesome light show looked beautiful the lights dancing in the canopy of trees above. This event sort of locked in my wanting to live in los angeles and see the desert party experience. Going to Orlando for Disney's Pleasure Island, alot. No names to protect the guilty. Mannequins and 8-trax my fav. OFFICER TRAINING SCHOOL This was actually pretty hard for me. Teaches you time management which I am bad at, often stay up to 2-3am working on stuff, get up before 6am. Oh, and I was there in the winter, we had no heat and no hot water in my room when I was in lower class. Recorded temps 35 deg in our room, oh and we had to sleep on top of our blanket, not under it, with a robe as our only blanket to keep us warm. Lower Class room inspections were during breakfast, there was no time after reveille to make up our bed. **Upper Class** was totally different: hot water, heat, and sleeping under blankets! LOS ANGELES AFB Clubbing/partying five nights a week from Hollywood to the Mojave Desert... Socal events! a desert party like every other weekend. Our "Desert Whore" camp. Moontribe parties in the desert, then $2 Tuesday Moontribe at Club Sugar. And all the other desert party collectives (blue sky, integral gathering, stormriders/stargazers, etc). My "other life" into industrial/goth clubs in Hollyweird (Stigmata/Dungeon/Helter Skelter/etc). When did I ever sleep??? oh at work. jeez why can't Atlanta have good stuff like that? /cry My nightlife ground to a halt when I moved here. Atlanta sucks and is boring. To get anywhere cool for a weekend, you have to head to asheville (touch samadhi collective, eee!) Backpacking all over beautiful California.. I've been everywhere. High desert to mountains. Jacinto, Sequoia (snow camping in 5 feet of snow, snowshoeing thru the woods in April. Feeling like prey after hearing heavy rustling thru the forest near me .. wait bears are coming out of hiberation about now!) Mojave, etc. Anywhere, I've been there. Wait was I suppose to talk about military here? lol OK... wearing that stupid 70s blue uniform sucked!
