Kevin's Story

Life After graduating university, I moved to Port Hardy to take a temporary position teaching a grade 5/6 class for 4 months. 14 years later I'm still here. I got married to Shari in 1999 and we are currently working hard renovating our home. My wife is an interior designer, which helps a lot when it comes to picking colours for the house. I also perform magic for children and adult shows. I got back into magic after 20 years, when I realized that it was a great to motivate the kids in my class. I also run a magic club at my school. I also have been trying to use teaching magic to help children with physical and mental disabilities. College I attended SFU for 6 years and then...Expand for more
moved to Kamloops to finish my teaching degree at Thompsons' University. I roomed with Keith Wilson for the 2 years I was there. While living in Vancouver attending SFU I roomed with Travis Bolander, Bruce Whitney, Brent Adams and John Langill over the years. Workplace I have been teaching on northern Vancouver Island for over 13 years now. I have taught at 2 different elementary schools in Port Hardy and I am currently on leave from a school in Port McNeill. I am currently the president of the Vancouver Island North Teachers' Association, which puts me on full release from the classroom. I'm hoping to do this position for another year or two and then return to the classroom.
