Kevin's Story

Life Hi everyone. I joined the military in '78, retired from there in '99. Drove tractor-trailer for about 6 years. In 2006 started repairing trucks instead of driving them. Jan 08 just switched jobs, Im now employed by DND to instruct mechanics coming into the Armed Forces. I never pictured myself as an instructor, but it is a good job. I feel like I have accomplished something when I see the test scores. I am a member of The Canadian Army Veterans Motorcycle Units(CAV). We are retired or still serving service members as well as supporters of the Military. Our moto is to ride and have fun while helping others. I am currently...Expand for more
doing a six month tour in Kandahar Afghanistan, supporting our troops. Completed my tour in August of 2010. I am happy to have had the opportunity to help support the troops. It was a great experience. The people I worked with in Afghanistan were great too. They showed their true colours during Canada Day when we had a show tour come to camp to entertain us. During the opening monologue a convoy of our troops came in and the crowd was cheering so loud the M/C had to pause until they where past. 2013- I started instructing the basic (M1 exit motorcycle) course at Georgian College, as part time work during the riding season.
