Kevin's Story
Life
I'm married with no children. After spending time on the farm and working as the first paramedic in Labette County, I figured it was time to do something else interesting. I graduated from Pittsburg State University in 1997 double majoring in biology and chemistry. My wife, Ashley, and I graduated with Master's of Business Administration in the spring of 2001. I graduated from Gonzaga University School of Law (Spokane, WA) in May 2004 and Ashley just graduated with ehr law degree in May. I currently teach upper division Fire Service Administration courses for Eastern Oregon University. I also passed the Idaho bar exam and I've been admitted to practice before all Idaho state and federal courts. I spent several months working for the Kootenai County Public Defenders in Coeur d' Alene, ID, but public criminal defense just isn't for me. Don't get me wrong--I loved being in court all day! bass criminals weren't so bad but doing child protection actions, mental health commitment hearings, and juvenile law seriously sucked. All of it is done at the last minute. No real warning or lead time and you generally went to court with an empty manila folder. The court says go and you show up to do what you can. That stuff will leave you lying awake at night and I'm talking serious tragedy here. You really want to beat the crap out of some parents. Anyway, I'm done with that and I'm taking the patent bar in August and will open a law practice focusing on intellectual property and technology law as well as consult on fire and EMS law matters. I also work with my law school's low income law clinic consulting on consumer law issues just for fun (well, also because they asked me to). LOL Remember this rule: Becoming an expert usually means that you get the bulk of the jobs. Especially, the no-pay kind.
