in 2001. The recipient of many scholarships and awards, he was also awarded the Carleton University Medal in Music upon his graduation. In 2007 he received his Master of Music in Theory and Composition from the University of Ottawa where he also taught as a Part-Time Professor. A versatile composer, Kevork Andonian has composed for the concert hall, theater, as well as for film, video and multimedia productions. He writes in a neo-tonal style which stresses the importance of melody and rich harmonies. A variety of emotions, rhythms and instrumental colors are portrayed in his works. He draws his inspiration from classical music, as well as world musics, jazz and pop. Currently he is Resident Composer of the Los Angeles Dream Orchestra. Kevork Andonian has had performances of his compositions and arrangements in Canada, the United States, France, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Spain, Finland, Romania, the Czech Republic and Armenia. He has had his works and arrangements performed by many professional musicians in prestigious concert venues such as Toronto’s Glenn Gould Studio, Barcelona’s Auditori, Los Angeles’s Zipper Hall and Walt Disney Hall as well as New York City’s Carnegie Hall. His piece entitled A Longing For Joy was premiered in Belgium in 2008 by flutist Marc Grauwels and marimbist Sarah Mouradoglou. The same performers recorded this piece for a Naxos CD entitled Music for Flute and Percussion, Vol. 2, which is currently distributed worldwide. Centaur and PARMA records will be releasing his orchestral, chamber, and solo piano works in the near future. Kevork Andonian also has written songs he would like to promote to various artists. He finds much fulfillment and joy in collaborating with choreographers, lyricists, filmmakers, producers, and other musicians. He is also an accomplished pianist and performs in many musical genres.".
