More about Kim:"I'm originally from Newburgh New York. I've been living in the rural mountains of Vermont since my 16 year old son was born (I didn't want him to grow up in Newburgh (for many obvious reasons), but I'll always love Newburgh and it saddens me to see the destruction of such magnificent city with (now trashed) exquisite historic buildings ~sigh~ It took quite a bit of adjusting, life is MUCH different here. Though I'm a city girl at heart I've learned to love my rural lifestyle and have even become a bit of a "granola"....I homeschooled my son up to 4th grade, I enjoy working in my large organic vegetable garden. I've learned to enjoy some of the simpler things in life. I don't know what I've done to deserve it but I feel I've been so very blessed. so very thankful to have been born a woman in the USA, though we have a ways to go before we are looked at as "equal" with men, so many women in this world are supressed with no basic human rights, forced to be used as objects for mens needs and pleasures. We as Americans are so VERY VERY VERY "spoiled", we complain that we don't have the newest/latest shiney gadjets, we frett that we can't afford to buy Jr. a latest $500 video game at Christmas because he SOOOO "deserves" it ! We complain when we need to wait a few minutes in a supermarket line, we feel so very deprived when we can't wear the hottest new trend name brand jeans or drive a newer model gas guzzling SUV, our children feel they are sooooo ENTITLED to only the finest and VERY BEST.. They open the fridge and cabinets and have the NERVE to complain that there's "nothing good to eat"... We take such BASIC things for granted, for example clean readily accessible WATER, Million and Millions of people on this planet do not have access to clean drinking water, often having to walk miles with buckets on their heads to gather TAINTED/parisite infested water. As we sit, stuffing our faces at our local "all you can eat" buffet, let's try to remember JUST HOW GOOD WE'VE GOT IT (and be gosh darn THANKFUL) there are so many people on this planet who send their children to bed at night crying from HUNGER.".
