Kim's Story
I am currently a SAHM and have been married for 24 years to my husband John. We have 4 children, ages 19,18,11, and 3.
We adopted our two oldest in 2000, after being foster parents for them for a couple of years. We then found out we were pregnant in 2001. Our son, when he was born, instantly became the light of my life. We are so blessed that we were able to have him. He balances out our family and makes me laugh like no one else. only 1lb 8oz and 12 3/4 inches long. We became quickly immersed in what it means to have a micro-preemie baby. We were in the NICU for 3 months and like most families faced with severe prematurity challenges, we have struggled to make a new normal. We lead a hectic life and have harried schedules - but we wouldn't have it any other way. I am family appointed taxi-driver to school, sport practices (Football, Baseball, Basketball) and any other need. Sometimes I feel like I live in my vehicle. I know this season of life will pass all too quickly, so I try to remember that when I've only been home for a consecutive 20 minutes that day.
