Kim's Story
I kind of like these sites as a way of peeking in on people from the past and and saying hello without actually having to say hello. I guess blogs are kind of like that, too. Then I'm torn on whether or not to leave a trail or a message from/about me. Part of me feels like I "owe" it to the people who want to peek and say hello to ME without having to say hello. Part of me thinks "ah - screw 'em." and just stay as private as possible. I'm in a weird boat right now. Everyone "new" who meets me now knows me as a man. Well, other than my son's teachers, etc. who have to find out that that the guy they thought was his dad is really his mom... who became a guy... I'm not exactly "in the closet" on this issue, but I guess more than anything it can be irritating to be "out" all the time. It reveals a lot of "t...Expand for more
ransphobia" even in people who aren't aware of being transphobic. It's kind of like when racist people say racist things but are totally oblivious to their racism... like how my dad was really uncomfortable looking at houses in a Latino neighborhood and said, "It's very ethnic in this neighborhood." Oh well. I enjoy reading the gossip rags as much as the next person -- maybe more. It's like junk food for the brain. So here's my contribution back into the gossip mill: that grouchy quiet Catholic girl from your Virginian past became a fairly high-functioning male chiropractor in San Francisco. (The picture I have posted here is about 5 years old. I hadn't started T - testosterone - yet - obviously! As of this writing, I am almost 2 years into T, and no longer get called "ma'am" - on the phone or otherwise!)
