Kimberley's Story
So, a friend told me to re-do my life "since high school" story so here goes...After graduation, I found a job that i kept for 6 months before going to Miami for a couple of weeks to hang out with old friends. On my way back to AL, I stopped in Thomasville, Ga to visit with some family and happened to meet a really great guy, and 2 weeks later we were married. (no, i wasn't pregnant). We will be celebrating 20 yrs of marriage in Feb '09. He and I did make it back to Pelham where both of my children were born. My son will be 19 this July ('09) and my daughter will be 17 in May ('09). We eventually came back to Ga. where my husband worked many yrs for the same employer as a mechanic and I did a few odd job/school things but now, my husband has his own shop and we are doing really well. My kids and family are amazing..I did the stay at home thing for the first 7yrs of our marriage and I was the girl scout leader/mom, cheerleader mom and the wrestling mom. be so unlike what i had in alabama. I want my children's friends to feel welcomed at our home and to feel free to come to us when needed.
My husbands family is unreal. They are friendly, down-to-earth and extremely huge. They are always there for each other whether the situation is good or bad. My husband has (no joke) 43 first cousins and since I come from a family with 3 cousins (total), at first it was caotic (?spelling)because in high school, I was quite and kind of introverted, I kept to myself alot, didn't go to parties and stuff (i didn't want to many people to know about my family and the stepmothers-between the 10th grade summer school and graduation night I had two legal stepmothers and another one that never actually married my dad ) but now that I have been where I am for 20 yrs, with the family that cares about a person just because you are you I don't give a care to what people think of me anymore..I am me and that's it. So, this is pretty much my story...
