Kimberly's Story
Life
Wow, so much to say.
Things are going well for me. I have a wonderful man in my life (Brett) & we've been together for the last 5 years. My two girls are happy, healthy, & doing great in school. Mikayla is 12 years old & in eigth grade. Kaitlyn is 11 and in seventh grade. They are both really smart & constantly keep me on my toes.
We live out in Wheatland, IA (bought it 06/06-approx 30 min or so out of the QCA) It's a big house with a large back yard. We have 3 dogs: a golden retriever (Honeybear), a great pyrenese(?) mix (Seamus McChompers), and a black lab (Kahn). We also have 4 cats (Chance, Mischief, Sam, & Jules), a rabbit (Dusty), and a tank full of Koi. All we need now is the flood to float our ark. ;~)
I haven't changed all that much since high school. I still wear glasses. I'm still rather on the quiet side. At least, until you get to know the real me. Yep... still a bookworm... or nerd... if you prefer.
And yet, I've grown into an interesting person & a great mom, surprisingly enough. Never thought I'd ever have kids of my own. I'm glad that I do. I would have missed out if I hadn't.
School
What can I say about high school? I should have finished & graduated. I got my GED but I missed out on all of the experiences I could have had. There were activities I wanted to get involved with & didn't. People I lost contact with that I cared about deeply. People I should have been nicer to & unfortunately wasn't. To those of you: I AM SORRY!

think about was how boring & mundane it all was. How smart I thought I was. How I couldn't wait to get out in the "real" world. Now that I am older & still dumb, just not as dumb, I look back with humor.
You just have to sit back & laugh at some of the things we all were a part of, saw happening, or heard about the next day. High school was just.... high school.
College
I've been to several. I learned I'm still smarter than your average grizzly bear and have less money than I started off with. Although I was only able to finish some basic requirements and had to take a leave of absence from school for medical reasons, I will go back to college. I will get my degree in something someday. (LOL...sigh)
Military
I joined the Navy in Nov of 1995 & out in 1998. I wanted to see the world. Well, I got to see the Great Lakes in the winter time... It was very cold! I saw the sun set on the Pacific Ocean while sitting on a beach in San Diego. I saw the neon lights of Las Veags. The beautiful springtime mountains of Colorado. The woods & mountains of Kentucky. The gorgeous bays of Virginia.
I learned a lot about working with others & human nature. I learned everyone is navy blue on the outside unless you're wearing khakis. I learned that computers were more than just paper weights. I learned how they looked & worked on the inside.
I learned how to have a sense of humor when faced with user error. TIP: check to make sure your power strip is turned "ON" first before you take your computer completely apart. ;~)
