Kimberly's Story
Life
Finally back from deployment to Kuwait (and you think GA is hot?!) and made SGT in March '06. My son Christopher is now 9 and about to go to 4th Grade, and Merritt and I will have been married for 12 years this coming September. Still living in Douglasville, GA and working as a Title 32 Technician with the Georgia Army National Guard. Finally have my degree, a Bachelor's in IT, which I managed to get right before I deployed. School
I went to Alexander High School. Go, AHS!!! LOL! High School was fun for the most part, but I lost touch with SO many people! The funnest part were days spent in Art class with Mr. DeFoor and chatting in the halls with Ms. Bone about the latest Anne McCaffrey book. Military
It's amazing how you form such close friendships in a "military family", especially over-seas!! And how close you can become to new friends you meet when going back home, and finding out that they're military too! I did Basic at FT Jackson, AIT at FT Gordon, a brief stint at FT Benning, and decided Airborne wasn't for me (LOL) then went to Korea, where I met my husband, Merritt. After Korea, we were stationed at FT Lewis, where Merritt got out, and I joined the Guard, first in Washington, and now in Georgia. We have a son named Christopher, and I work for the Guard full time. I just got back from a 1-year deployment to Kuwait in November.
