Kitsi's Story
Mother of three, two are homemade, one is adopted, and step-mother to two, and have had a stray here and there until things were patched up with their families....
I work for the State of Oregon, Department of Human Resources, Self-Sufficiency (Fancy words for Food Stamp Office). I always knew I wanted to do something that helps people. This makes the work I do very rewarding.
I signed up for Classmates with my age appropriate graduation year of 1984, but that isn't when I graduated highschool. I got 'wise' and thought I just needed to strike out on my own right about the time I should have been focusing on my diploma....dumb move.
In 1986 I became pregnant with my oldest son, and then I really wised up. I went back to school and in the same month, the month of May, I became a mommy AND I got my highschool diploma. I am very proud of that little life fact of mine.
I married Billy Keen from Mazama, a wonderful beautiful man. He died from a lengthy illness in April of 2000. We were married for twelve years.
I have married anew to Les Davis. None of you would know him, he's from out of town...LOL
I guess I must have done something right in a past life to have found true love twice in one lifetime.
One of my favorite past times is photography. I've won a couple of prizes. I even have a couple of photographs in the International Library of Photography. Who'd of thought it? I didn't even show the slightest interest in it in highschool...LOL!! I hope to work it into a business eventually, but right now, I'm happy to protect my retirement with the good job that I've got.
Who did you go to prom with? I went one year with my boyfriend at the time, Ken Losee....but the proms I remember the most are the two I attended with Mike Blackburn!!! Same prom dress every time....and Mike never even blinked....always told me I looked beautiful.....We were best friends once Mike.....I am so sorry we lost...Expand for more
touch....How are you?
What was the wildest thing I ever did in school? I don't know...I was pretty full of antics.....but seems to me, my old friends remember that I would ditch my shoes in my locker and walk around in stocking feet. Please don't ask me why....I honestly don't have an answer for that one.
One of my favorite memories of high school was when Jim Stewart pulled up on that voltzwagon of his...and parked right on top of my foot!!! I was in shock!! Couldn't say anything, I was too busy sucking in all the oxegon in Klamath Falls from the pressure. Barry Thompson was there. He saw it too, but didn't tell Jim to move the car, he was too busy watching my face...Jim got out, grabbed my arm.."Come on Kitsi, let's go.....' and pulled me in the direction of the cafeteria but I couldn't get very far...it twisted my knee slightly, but you know what, once the car was moved, within a few minutes, I was completely fine. Funny story to remember. What I remember the most about hanging out with those two was the belly laughs. I really enjoyed our friendship.
Two people I really miss are John Holcomb and Mike Gardner (I remember we called him Lurch because of his great height!!!) I will remember them fondly probably as long as I live. Do you remember John Holcomb? He died from Leukemia during highschool. Mike Gardner died a few short years after highschool from complications from his heart transplant. They were both such special people.
I hope that friends of old remember me as the kind hearted. I KNOW friends of old remember me as loud, weird, shoeless (LOL), a bit pushy, and not so often out and about. Most of my socializing, if I remember right, was done during school itself...much to the teacher's consternations...LOL.
I really look forward to reconnecting with my old friends from way back when. If you remember me, don't hesitate to send me a message. I'd love to hear from you.
