Kris's Story
As of January, 2008, I am still happily married, living near Destin, FL for the past decade. I have an 9 year old son, Alex, and a 19 year old stepson, Austin; one high maintenance dog, and three incredibly annoying but lovable cats.
I still spend almost all of my time caring for my little guy, who suffered a post -op brain injury in Jan. 2002. He continues to improve, albeit VERY slowly, and is a very happy child in spite of his health issues and needs. That is what keeps Rich and me going each day. My stepson is attending UCF in Orlando. not ours. My husband, Rich, is a civilian meteorologist at Eglin AFB, and a reservist Lt.Col. with the "Hurricane Hunters" at Keesler AFB. He's also been working as a consultant in tons of Katrina and other hurricane cases for the past couple of years.
My parents still live in the same house on Woodard Circle (30 years now) and are doing very well. We go up and visit them two or three times a year. My sister, Rachel, is a dietician at the children's hospital in Knoxville.
