Work Bio: Krista Vink Venegas, Ph.D., is a partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP based in the Chicago office. As a member of the Intellectual Property, Media & Technology Department, she has particular experience in representing high-tech companies in complex patent litigation, including Medtronic, General Electric and Ion Beam Applications. She also has substantial experience counseling academic institutions on life sciences patent portfolios, as well as experience in providing patentability and freedom to operate opinions. Additionally, she has experience with corporate due diligence analysis of biotechnology assets.

rista conducted research at the University of California, Los Angeles School of Medicine, Department of Neurobiology. She is the author or co-author of several published papers in the fields of molecular neuroendocrinology, neural development and behavior. She received her Ph.D. from the Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology at UCLA.
Krista is a member of the bar of the state of California, and is admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, U.S. District Courts for the Northern District of Illinois, Western District of Wisconsin, Eastern District of Texas, Central District of California, Eastern District of Virginia and the District of Colorado.
