Kristel's Story
Life
Well lets see... I graduated from Georgetown and went on to college in a little town known as Stephenville I graduated with a bachelors in Business Management and a minor in Art. After college, I decided to get my masters degree so I packed my bags and moved all the way to Jolly Ol' England where I lived for several years and earned my Masters of Fine and Decorative Art (furniture and paintings). Eventually I did have to move back to Texas and get a job. When reality hit me and I concluded that there are no art jobs in Texas and that a job in the art world pays almost nothing, I became self-employed and now split my time between appraising antiques, business consulting, and travelling around the world.
School
I attended Zion Lutheran School from Preschool to 8th grade, then I attended Georgetown High until my graduation in 1999.
College
I went to Central Texas College in Killeen for the first year...Expand for more
of college then I transferred to Tarleton in 2000, and of course lost most of my credits, so it was like starting over again. I became very active in school organizations, made some great friends, won awards for my grades and community service, and was published as one of the best business students in the nation. I only mention this because my G-town high school counselor didn't think I would even make it to college-- I guess I showed him!
Graduate School
I applied for Sotheby's Institute of Art, was accepted, and lived in London for several years. What a great experience! The teachers are the best in their field and I got to see some of the worlds greatest museums on a daily basis.
Today I reside back here in the USA. I am self-employed as an Antiques Appraiser in the evenings and on weekends, and a business consultant from 9-5. Just think of my consulting job as the"Bob's" from the movie 'Office Space'.
