Kristi's Story
Life
It's been a while, wow I am getting so old, well actually, I guess we all are! I still live in southern Maine and really miss all of my Academy friends very much. Life zooms by and then one day you wake up (three teenagers later) and have to put on the breaks and remember what is really important to you, and my BMA & SLA familys are one of them!
Like I said, I have three teenagers. Alan (in the photo with me) is my oldest and he is 18. I also, have anothers son Christopher age 15 (going to drivers ed right now) and my daughters name is Kiley and she is (whew) 13 going on 23 I think....she is going to pay me back big time ; )
I have a home here in Southern Maine with my three kids and my husband Robert of 16 years. We used to own a coast to coast trucking company but closed it with the fuel crunch in 1999. I stayed home with my kids and worked in our home office and helped to run the show.
I since then have owned a gift shop, worked as an admin in a event marketing agency ie; Red Baron, AOL, Castrol Motor Oil, to name a few, but then left to go be near my father in New Mexico, whom I lost in 2003 to prostate cancer. (a life changing experience for sure). I did move back to Maine after less then a year, but was grateful for the time near him, and then went back to work after some healing time creating my perenial gardens here at my home (that keep e...Expand for more
xpanding like crazy) and so I went back to work as a manager in Bethel, Maine for a printing company, doing everything but the offset printing! I found out that I loved typesetting and was able to create beautiful brochures with an artisic flare that I had inherited from my mother (thanks mom).
They recently closed my office, and I have had a few offers but I am taking some time off to spend with my teenagers and my husband, as well as spoil them with some of my home cooked meals, in between once again working in my gardens and redecorating my home for spring.
By the way, my son Alan is graduating this year and I just sent out all of his announcements yesterday, so I will be planning a graduation party for him too! Most of my family is traveling in to be here for that, so we are very excited to see everyone!
Well, that is definately enough about me, I am pretty much the same, only older and I would like to think wiser! Life really has a way of teaching us some valuable lessons and I am thankful for my up bringing and the life long friendships at I formed at BMA, I am only sorry that I have not been good at reconnecting sooner! But life isn't over and we have all been busy in our seperate lives I am sure, so I would love to have any of my friends drop me an email and say hello!
Sorry for talking your ear's off, but it's been a while ; )
Big Hugs, Kristi
