Kristin's Story
Life
I moved to MS in 1992, then moved to Memphis for 5 years....But my sister and my folks had moved to Biloxi area and I kept coming down to visit so I moved back in 1997....Worked for the Beau Rivage casino from opening in 1999. Hurricane Katrina shut us down in August 2005....But we will be back....Bought my house in 2002; I got sick of waiting for Mr. Right and the white house, picket fence and golden retriever, so I decided to do it myself....But it was a Welsh Terrier, not a golden...had to give her away, she was a handful...Then I had my daughter. She is amazing!
So you might be wondering about the whole Katrina thing...I didn't lose anything except of course my job. I am sort of looking at it as a...Expand for more
sabbatical. I actually lost a few shingles on my roof, which was going to need to be replaced within the next few years anyway. My parents house fared about the same; and we didnt lose any close friends or family members. But it is taking a while to get used to things as they are down here. Anyway, it is going to come back stronger than ever...and no matter where you go you are at risk for some sort of natural disaster, I guess, so I am not going to do like I wanted to at first and sell everything and run! This is my home; people here are great, and I don't want to leave.
Anyway, anyone who knew me back then probably doesn't remember me as much of a talker (if they remember me at all) so I will stop here!
