Life
Want to know more? Find me on facebook(dot)com you can leave me a message with no membership fee there. Look me up under: Kristine McPherson Sembaluk.
I currently reside in Edmonton, Alberta where I have lived since November 1997. I was married in June 2002 to Scott, an Environmental Engineer. Scott and I both love to travel, we visited Australia in 2001 and in 2002 we went on a Western Caribbean and Mexican cruise. In the near future we are hoping to get in some more traveling... and hopefully it will be to some where warm.
I am still very close with quite a few Howe Sound Secondary Alum: Alana Harley, Rob LoGiaccio, Donna (Evans) Jones, Steve Jones, Kelly (Jung) Kerr, Brandon Hunt, Sarah Ticheauer, Lori (Allaire) Hogarth, Lisa (Thompson) Pordon & Leslie (Kerns) Hane.
I spent some time after graduating Howe Sound living in Squamish for a while, amongst moving around to different locations from time to time. Some of those locations included Vernon BC, Tarpon Springs FL, and finally on to Edmonton.
Scott and I do not have any children at this time, but we do have a very spoiled calico cat named Savanna. If you would like to contact me do a search on my name at facebook(dot)com
School
One of the funniest memories I remember was one night when I was at McDonalds with Brandon Hunt and Alana Harley. Alana got up to get some more sugar or cream for her tea, and while she was away from the table Brandon put is chewed up piece of gum into her tea. Alana takes milk in her tea so she did not see the gum in her cup when she came back. But while stirring in the sugar she had just added with one of those little white McDonalds spoons that they give you, she felt that there was strange thump with the contents of her cup when she stirred it. Alana pulled the spoon out to find a chewed piece of gum stuck to the end of it and she was so startled that she tossed it where the spoon landed on the back of BrandonÂs hand. BrandonÂs reaction was to flick his hand to get it off which accidentally caused the gum/s...Expand for more
poon to be flicked up into the air again. Sitting at a table a short distance away was Kristen Hayes with her mom Lori. Kristen was the unfortunate recipient of the spoon as it flew threw the air and landed on her shoulder with gum still attached; her shoulder looked like she had been struck with a McDonalds spoon arrow. With the warmth of the tea the gum had become soft and there was a gum string from the table where Alana, Brandon and I sat, you could follow the gum string from AlanaÂs cup to BrandonÂs hand and all the way to the gum and spoon which was now sticking to KristenÂs shoulder. This of course was not planned that Kristen would be hit with the gum but everyoneÂs reaction and the sight of the string of gum showing where the spoon had come from was too much for all of us, as we broke out into hysterics. Poor Brandon was laughing so hard he ran out of the restaurant.
Some of the craziest memories from our grad year would have to be the parties we had at my house while my parents were in Scotland for 3 weeks. Often referred to the infamous "3 week party". Brandon, Alana, Donna, Rod, Zane, BJ, Tina, Lisa and various others had all been part of some or all of the parties there during those 3 weeks. My parents never did find out about the parties, since we did such a god job of cleaning up after it was all said and done. Even though we were never able to find another certain bottle 40 oz of Scotch that was no longer available, to replace one of the ones we had polished off from the liquor cabinet. My parents did finally find out only after reading some of what my friends had written in my yearbook about that fun 3 weeks while they were away.
