Lakesha's Story
Life
So far, my biggest accomplishment is the mothering of my two children. U read right--2 children. That, and maintaining my figure. No, really, I haven't completed college yet, which will probably come as a shock to most people I went to school with. But I have succeeded in so many other ways. I moved to Virginia and found my church home, along with an unbelievable relationship with God. I'm currently writing a book, it's a collection of poems...E-mail me, and let's catch up!
School
I wish I could do high school again. I think I would've dated more, studied more, and kept in touch with more friends. My grades were decent, but they could've been so much better! I went to college in VA for a semester, and in NY for another. Straight A's, baby! And that's even harder with 2 kids bugging u while u try to do HOMEWORK! I hope to finish soon!
Workplace
I've done all the desk work I can handle..I've been an insurance claims specialist, a customer service agent for US Airways Express (around September 11th), a medical receptionist, an office manager...And now, I mus...Expand for more
t admit that my favorite job is, hands-down, being a mom. I love that I'm home when my kids need me, and that I can attend all their school functions, something that I missed growing up. I have a great relationship with my son's teachers, and I'm in the process of turning my 3 year old into a brain!!! She's a genius...the girl can spell her first and last name, knows her address and phone number, can identify numbers up to 10 and count up to 20, she knows all her shapes and numbers, and I'm teaching her how to read now. Brandon's a class clown, he loves making people laugh. He's been diagnosed with PDD-NOS (Pervasive Developmental Disorder), which is on the Autism Spectrum. The most noticeable symptom is his speech delay. But what does come out his mouth is hilarious, and he's the sweetest little boy you ever knew. They are truly a blessing, and my life's work. I'm in the process of putting my poems, that I've been writing since 12 yrs old, into a book. I think alot of people can relate to the things I've went through in my 25+ years, so it should do well! God willing!
