Lance's Story
Graduated from Clayton Bouton Jr-Sr High School in Voorheesville, NY in 1966, attended SUNY at Fredonia from 1966-70, graduating with a BA in economics. As one of the last of the draftees...enlisted for that third year to avoid a fate that was Viet Nam. Ended up in at NATO headquarters in Belgium, and spent a good part of my "army" career sightseeing in Europe. Also picked up an MA in International Relations offered by Boston University for overseas GI's. That and and 50 cents would get you a cup of coffee at the time.
Returned to U of Chicago and after one year there and a further year at Universite Catholique de Louvain...Expand for more
picked up an MBA from Chicago. First real job was with a U.S. company in the Middle East, where I met and married my wife, Nadia. We transitioned back to Dallas in 1978, and then moved to Port-au-Prince Haiti in 1979, where we have been ever since.
We are both still working (me in an electronics company started in 1983, Nadia as a special ed teacher and head of department at the American School in Haiti). We also have two grown daughters and two grandsons, all living in Haiti, although youngest daughter is presenting in Miami enrolled in an evening MBA program while working full time for our electronics company, Manutech.
