Lane's Story
After graduate school at Va Tech I married Doug Gehley and moved to Northern VA where we have lived for 30 years. We are both architects and have a daughter, Jordan - 22 and a recent grad of William & Mary, and a son, Eliot - 18 and a freshman at JMU.
Fortunately Brenda Sadler lives nearby so there is a little bit of NC here. I get to Raleigh to visit my sister Libbi (Elizabeth), her family, my Mom, and my 91 year old Aunt Clara every few...Expand for more
months. We rarely get back to Charlotte as the whole gang moved to Raleigh many years ago but we did do a quick road trip over Christmas. It was interesting to see how much has changed. Uptown is hardly recognizable but Coulwood looked great and our old house there looked exactly as it did when my mom and aunt left it. The house I grew up in near Thomasboro is now green instead of grey but that yellow brick "A" is still on the chimney.
