Larry's Story
Life
At 40 retired from the US Air Force. Have been a Fire Chief/Fire Marshall since retiring from the USAF. I retired December 1, 2002 from the fire service and will probably quit June 2003. Cheers to all. Welllll didn't quit working until June 30, 2004. Now I am done! Upgraded my camper and we were on a 60 day cross country trip by September 14th. The only way to go.

Retired from the USAF April 1987 and started full time as a Fire Chief with the Ashley River Fire Department, Dorchester County, South Carolina (North Charleston area). Moved the FD's insurance rating from an ISO Class 6 down to a Class 3, not bad for a primarily all volunteer fire department. ounty in the Upstate of SC. I worked with 14 fire departments and over 300 volunteer firefighers. In December 1999 the office of county Emergency Preparedness was added to our list of duties after the previous Director retired. Retired from all that December 2002 and finally quit from it June 30, 2004. Now 100% retired, well sort-of, I volunteer as a Pump Operator (Driver) for our local fire department. Live is GREAT!
