Larry's Story
Life
After graduation, I attended North Iowa Area Community College in Mason City, Iowa, and received an Associate Degree. I started working at John Deere, I took a leave of absence to enlist in the United States Air Force, returning to work in 1976, and enlisting into the Iowa Air National Guard. I retired from John Deere in 1997. I returned to academic pursuits at the University of Northern Iowa, graduating with a BA in Political Science and minoring in International Studies. I later received a Master's Degree in National Security Studies from American Military University, specializing in Intelligence and International Security issues. Administration in 2021 at Walden University. I retired as a Master Sergeant in 2005 from the Iowa Air National Guard with just under 32 years combined United States Air Force/Iowa Air National Guard service. I have been on several deployments over the years, stateside and overseas. I have four children, all grown up and working at various jobs, with some continuing their education.
