Laura's Story

Greetings to all! Here's my life so far.... After graduation and Woodstock, I moved to NYC for college and then the working life afterwards. I taught elementary school for a few years but then went to work for an advertising agency as taking 40 kids to Central Park by myself for recess got a bit stressful. I eventually moved to Ithaca, New York for more school and then on to San Diego, California in 1983. Met my future husband Don back in 1975 and married in 1985. He's from Brooklyn. Out here, I went to work for a New York Bank - Citibank in asset management and trusts for many years during which time Don and I renovated our 1926 bungalow that we still live in. ng the way, I became a Master Gardener and got deeply deeply involved in the world of horticulture here in our year round gardening climate. As a result, Don and I have a small horticulture business that we started after he retired from being a professional chef. We love the West and its amazing beauty. Im taking community college classes in art (still love it after all these years) and I teach/lecture on drought tolerant and native plant landscaping and gardening. When it's vacation time, we head off to flyfish in the Sierras. I'm looking forward to seeing alot of vintage friends at the reunion and hoping that everyone is living the good life. gardencoach1 at gmail
