Laura's Story
After school, I immediately married a great guy (a school teacher). I got a job in tech support at a small software company. My untreated lifelong depression got worse, and I eventually lost my job due to problems caused by a combination of attempts to figure out what medicine would work on my depression (paxil is evil), and pure burnout. I stayed away from computers for a few years, settling eventually in a retail environment that was both healing and helpful. I continued to deal with depression, as no medication can quite erase it, and started to hurt all the time. I was eventually diagnosed with fibromyalgia, which is currently going untreated due to financial issues (no insurance = no help). A couple of years ago I somehow managed to wrest my life away from the depression, and I've lost a few pounds (115 at last count) and started B12 shots which actually seem to keep the depression at bay (in combination with regul...Expand for more
ar medicine). We're in the process of moving to Eastern Washington, where I'm hoping the weather will make my fibro more bearable (since it seems to be weather triggered) and where my husband has a good teaching job.
No, I haven't got any kids. Go figure.
You can keep up with my life at realtegan dot blogspot etc if you care to. I won't spring for the Gold Membership here, so I can't read any comments on my guestbook. Yeah, I'm cheap. But I can't see that many of my old "friends" from school would be that interested in finding me, as I was borderline aspie, constantly depressed, and holier-than-thou most of the time. I must have been a pain to be around, and I was pretty much clueless about it. No wonder I have no close friends at all from my youth who still keep in touch.
I'm a nerd. If you want to see me, your best chance is probably to go to Emerald City Comicon and hunt me down based on clues left in my blog.
