Laura's Story

Life I am divorced And I have 2 sons (27 yr old Ronald J Miller "known as Buster (who works for Stand Up Guys Junk Removal here in St Petersburg and all over the area), and a 17 yr old David he is in the 10h grade in Pinellas Park High). Plus Buster has a soon to be 6 yr old son Richard and a daughter Maddie born in February 2016 that makes her 1yro. And yes that is her 11 mth picture in my pics. I got to get one of Richard to post. God knows that makes me that forbidden word of Grandmother yuck I am so old lol I would have had a daughter also she was born and passed away on 3-25-85 in Wurzburg, Germany while I was in the Army, And I have 3 cats named.Oreo and Casey and a boy named Jo Jo (he is for Richard my soon to by 7yr old grand son who has come to live with us from California in October of 2016). and yes Richard named him lol. Prescious and Tiger passed away we guess and since we have coyotes around here we just found out, and Zoe at the age of 17. Plus a spotted gecko and 3 parakeets I live in a zoo. I live alone now with the zoo lol but will most likely be moving soon. School I was a big tom boy. I understood the things that the boys did unlike the girls did. I hated to do makeup, dresses and fuss with my hair lol and I never understood the drama the girls had to have I hated girl friends. So i hung out mostly with boys because I could relate to them so much better and be at their level. I could tear a lawn mower engine apart and fix it for mom and help put the electric and phones in our house and build the sheds for our pool with mom. I came from,Lttle Rock, Arkansas we had 5 acre arm, rrel racing and brother bull and cattle roping went to rodeos and won, ducks, we raised hunting dogs, a cat, blackberries, apples, pears, walnuts, fazelnuts, figs, etc that I would pick, and that daffodils grew wild (there were so many I couldn't walk without stepping on them) and then when I moved here in 1973 (well I was a fish out of water or a bird with clipped wing that was caged. I was so homesick it hurt. We moved down here because my 16 yr old sister was at University of Tampa who ( was also in the Miss Univ of Tampa pagent and won 1st runner up) and was homesick for us. She finished a hard 4 yr course in 2 yrs. And tells us we didn't need to move down here AFTER WE SOLD EVERYTHING AND I MEAN EVERYTHING TO COME. I would have studied harder and tried harder to fit in. But life has its way of being cruel if you let it be. I was very shy and hated to be made fun at ( never knew how to take it). School and moving was so hard for me plus with the divorce on top of it too. I would love to hear from everyone I crossed paths with. I don't hold grudges. I have grown up. it only makes you stronger for your adult years it helps you to become the adult that your are later in life. and what you become and how to help others people and children So email me I love to hear from everyone. We all learn from the mistakes we made and make. College I went to Sante Fe Community College in Gainesville, Fla for Automotive Technology Certificate that I graduated in the HONORS SOCIETY. We had our group with Kang, Alan, Malay. We even went to NHRA Gatornationals and we worked with the NHRA Tech Team inspecting all of the contestants vehicles for the qualifing rounds and after they won in their field. I was raising a son (Buster) with the help o...Expand for more
f my ailing mother who died in 1996 before I graduated in 1997. I never got a job doing this I wish I did. Workplace As of right now I am medically retired. I worked at Bay Pines Veterans Hospital in St Petersburg, Fla. I work in Lakeside Outpatient Care Clinic as a Patient Service Assistant I am now medically retired and disabled since end of October 2013. Military (5-1-1984 to 9-5-1991) I grew up alot in boot camp I had friend at every place I went and yes I was popular again. I loved it so much I would have stayed in and retired if it wasn't for my now 24 year old son and the 1st Gulf War. Yes we had our ups and downs. But I would not change anything in this part of my life. Not even loosing my baby girl (Little Willamay Lee, she is named after my mom and sister) in Germany. Still trying to find Jorita Gibson and contact Browne ( I found Kenneth Browne) who helped me alot in this trying period who I lost contact with. But I never forgot you and how you stood by me and helped me and my mother as I was loosing my little girl. Mom wanted to thank ya'll so much I pray you look me up and read this and email me. so we can reconnect. In the military I was a Military Transport Operator. I drove anything from a car to a HET (a HEAVY EQUIPMENT TRANSPORTER) WITH) with a tank on the back of it or a gasoline tanker which my tanker is still sitting in Saudi burnt out from the 1st Gulf War AFTER WE CALLED CEASE FIRE they still shot at us and got my tanker a dead hit and sent the 2 behind mine up with it. This is what I often wish I can go back and finish and retire from. But there were to many things for me to over come one was a infant, a divorce and another was an ailing mother whom I need to care for. And being off at war wasn't the time and place for either so I chose to get out. I did basic at Ft Jackson SC C-4-1 the good old tank hill. I got there midnight May 1 1984 after mom stormed the plane to say goodbye to me. Yeah she did she was in the bathroom when I had to board and I couldn't wait and let me tell you she made more noise than a stamped of buffalo coming on board hollering. lol I was under my chair lol well my other 5 army buddies who were with me pulled me out so we could take off since we already had to bump 9 people off the flight so we could get on (oh the got paid very well for being pumped) to 7-5-84 where I shipped to Ft Lost in the woods oh I mean FT Leonardwood Ft Leonardwood, Mo C-5-4 7-5-84 to 10-15-84 then two week leave and off to West Germany. I first got orders to go to a little town on the French board named Zweibrucken down from Mannheim and over from E from Stuttgart. But I wasn't a Non Commissioned officer I was a lonely private just out of boot camp so I got reassigned to Wurzburg to a Kasern called Emery Kasern B Company 3rd Supply and Transportation Battalion Division Rock of the Marne . I nearly died seeing it. Under the staircase we had a Swastika from when Hitler was there. Our halls had the rifle holders still in the walls for their rifles outside of each door. You could still feel the cold damp present of the war around you A lot of our people got depressed there. The German People were so beautiful and kind and considerate and compassionate and friendly. But I just couldn't quite like the place at all. It was the company I was in. I was then transferred to Ft Stewart Ga
