Laura's Story
Life
Hi! My name is Laura Bush (really, really!)
In school, my friends knew me as Laura Littlefield.
I was born a military brat so we moved around a lot. During my "impressionable" years, however, I lived in Waskom and then Marshall, Texas from 5th-9th grade and then moved to the Dallas/Ft Worth area to finish up high school.
My dad died while were living in Waskom. It was a tough time but I had some good friends to help me get through it. At school, I was a cheerleader and pretty boy crazy! (what 13-year-old isn't?)
I moved to Marshall my freshmen year where I fell in love, or so I thought, for the first time. The relationship was short lived as most high school flings are! I soon became smitten with an "older" school mate that was probably the biggest mistake of my life. It was bad from the get-go but I was so insecure, I couldn't see it, therefore, I gave in to the mind games he was playing. I will say that I learned a lot and use that experience to impart wisdom to my children.
The memories were mostly great in high school. Once I moved to the Dallas area, though, I really felt disconnected. I had moved around my whole life because of milita...Expand for more
ry life but I was really longing for some stability.
Then, at the end of my Junior year, the man I would one day marry entered my life romantically. It was the most surreal experience and we've now been married for 19 years!
We've got 2 incredible and talented children ages 17 and 12. Our son, the eldest, is entering his senior year this year and I am so excited! He is the head of the drum line and is the most amazing musician.
Our daughter is "the athlete" of the family. She is an incredibly talented volleyball player. She truly has a passion for the sport and it shows when you see her play!
I give all credit for their talents to the Lord because "ALL GOOD THINGS COME FROM GOD!"
The best part? My children have grown up in the SAME TOWN and attended the SAME SCHOOLS their entire lives!
The latest on me...
I am about to fulfill one of my childhood dreams...I am graduating from Culinary School! I cannot believe it! I have always had a passion for cooking and for the past 10 years, I have been a culinary coach inspiring and teaching others to cook...now, I can add CHEF to my title!
That's it...not the most exciting life but fulfilling.
