Laura's Story

Life I taught English and English Education courses at Southern Wesleyan University from 1980 to 2006, chairing the Division of Modern Languages for thirteen years. I have retired from higher education and have returned at first first love and calling: teaching high school English and Latin. My husband and I live in Central, South Carolina, with our cats and a dog. We have two grown children, a boy and a girl, and have two grandsons. Life is good! jobs at a florist shop and a cafeteria. While in graduate school, I worked as a file clerk for an insurance company and as a data processor for a bank. My first "real" job was teaching English at a junior high. I have also taught senior high and college. My passion is training young people to be English teachers. I was chair of an academic division, so much of my time was spent on administration. I have retired from administration and have returned to the secondary classroom full-time.
