Laurell's Story
I live in Modesto, California. Have been married to my best friend and love of my life Joe Millheim for 23+ happy years. Schools include Hazen High School, McKnight Middle School, Hazelwood Elementary, Frank B. Cooper Elementary, Genesee Hill Elementary, and Modesto Junior College. Retired from Stanislaus County where I was a Senior Systems Engineer(Geek). Met my husband here. I enjoyed the technical systems design and support, but the politics sucked. Retirement is the best job I've ever had. I can now devote my time to the Irish Wolfhounds, my amazing husband, reading, music, shopping, art or whatever I feel like. Even doing nothing for yourself is better than going to work for someone else.

d let go of the vinyl so now that they're back and everyone is very much into vinyl records again instead of being old fashioned I am now Guinness brilliant. The large CD collection will just have to continue to be our preferred listening media while we're in the cars. I try to make it to concerts when they're close. Tom Petty, Sting, Fleetwood Mac, Neil Young, CSNY, Bonnie Raitt, John Haitt, Heart, Paul McCartney, etc.
Still read a ton of books, mostly sci-fi or fantasy, but will read anything that is interesting. Also listen to audio books nightly.
I miss the Northwest. California isn't my favorite but what can you do? Sunny weather isn't all that great 330+ days a year. Where we live triple digits are the norm for summer, and summer is a season that lasts for 8 months out of the year. I like rain and the occasional dusting of snow. Rain rarely occurs and snow last showed up in the 60's for a few minutes my hubby tells me.....
