Laurie's Story
Life
If life is truly lived from moment to moment, I should be thankful for my many great ones. My moments find me in an in a great space, with some amazing friends. I spend my work days as kiniesiologist/exercise specialist primarily in sports conditioning/athletic therapy, but I work with some truly wonderful patients in cardiac rehab and some great teens in youth fitness. This is not what I started out doing, but where I ended up. Who would have ever thought I would have a Phd? Certainly not me! I don't believe I get paid to have such an amazing job.
Workplace

biomechanics. I wish I knew when was younger that health care would be my calling - I maybe would not have spent all those years on Bay Street (although the $$$ was nice!). I LOVE MY JOB!!! I get to help so many people during the course of a day. I am the fitness co-ordinator in the gym at a downtown Toronto hospital. Additionally, I work with the City of Toronto: Parks and Recreation Department as a fitness consultant/instructor, and also as a consultant with the Ontario Ministry of Health. Careers are so over-rated... I have a great set of skills, and can really affect people's lives--AMAZING!!
