Laurie's Story

Life Wow, I see so many names that trigger serious memories! Well, no kids, no marriages (no time)! I'm a graphic designer who loves to dabble in the paranormal. To those of you who knew me, are you surprised? I love my guinea pig and live in Whittier. I was living in Vegas, but moved back here when my dad got sick. As you all recall I lost my mom in 1985 to lung cancer. It took a long time for me to deal with losing her, but I've battled deep depression for years and now with meditation and believing in myself, I'm better than ever. I'm sure we all have incredible stories to tell... :) School I would definitely do high school over again. I'd get involved more in activities and be less shy. I was whipped on Robert Castro in my sophmore year (1984). I think he dropped out of school...not sure. I loved many of the teachers at Pi Hi. Does anyone remember Mrs. Sotomeyer? She use to call us "Jerry's kids." How about Mr. Lopez? Man, he could make me laugh! I use to laugh my ass off watching people crossing one area of the school grounds wh...Expand for more
ere the roots of the trees had pulled up the cement and everyone would trip. Or checking out who was sitting at the Stoner table that day. It all went so fast...but it seemed like a freaking lifetime when I was there. College I went to Westwood College of Technology in Anaheim. It wasn't your traditional four year university. But we still had all the nightmares of exams, crazy teachers, and monthly BBQs with burgers that were practically black from the teachers not knowing how to cook them! The best thing out of college was the friends I made. I was much more talkative in college then high school and made friends with not just the student body, but the staff and teachers as well. College was awesome!!! Workplace I worked clerical for years and before that retail. I finally decided with a talent for art, why not get paid for it? I went to school and got my bachelors degree and am now working freelance as a graphic designer. I love it. I'm glad I listened to my gut instinct and acquired a career doing something I believe I was born to do.
