Le'May's Story
School
Elementary and High School were fun. I wish I would have had a better social life. Its all good though, because I made up for my lost life in college (partied, pledged, and graduated). I pledged Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. (Blue Phi!) and am glad I did so. I am engaged to a very beautiful young lady from right here in NC. We plan on weddding next summer. I will be enrolling in Fall 2004 at NC Central's graduate program (Master's in Public Administration). I spent a year in ECU's MS Industiral Tech program but decided to transfer. I figured most of you all are doctors, lawyers, or proffessionals and I want be there too. But enough of that.
I gotta say that I think St. Joe's had some fine sistas, namely in our eighth grade class. But you know I was nerdy/ dorky and I wasn't gonna try to get played. Since I'm engaged I'll put myself out there and say I had a thing for Dawn, Beatrice (yall probably know about the love note in sixth grade), Terrica, Annita (the new girl that came our last year), Fiona (...Expand for more
she had those eyes), and Michelle. If I could go back and talk to myself, I would have changed. But you know you live learn. I hope all yall are doing good today
Essex Catholic was fun. Bet yall don't remember Sophomore year when I hit Jarel (or Jarrell) Powell right after History (what was the white surfer teacher's name?). What about Bro. Duffy, was there a teacher better than him(G-d bless his soul)?. Bro. Duffy was the only white teacher that really sat down and talked to us about being black. He was more proud of black accomplishments than some of us. We can't forget "Mumbles" or Jason Johnson (G-d Bless their souls). What about those lunch time altercations. Classic was Sultan and Bookia(sorry for the spelling) or when Urcel got slammed on the table. But yall know I was a quiet one. I was Le'May to some and "Jew" to all. You know what, I enjoyed every minute in that place. Through all the crap we put on each other (and I got a lot of it), we came out stronger, wiser, and smarter. Hope yall living.
