Leah's Story
Life
I live in Kampala, Uganda with my husband (Jeremy) and two sons (Rafael-3 and Sebastian-1). We have been here for a number of years, and it really feels like home now.
The organization that I work with is called the Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI); it is a world-class infectious diseases treatment, training and research center. One of the big advantages to living here is that we can travel to all sorts of exciting places fairly quickly. This year we have taken vacations to the Kenya Coast, South Africa, Ethiopia and Zanzibar. All are less than 4 hours by plane, and it's great for the kids to see so many different ways of life. (Needless to say, it's good for us, too!!).
