Leanne's Story

I'm considered to be a person who is loyal to those I'm close to especially friends & family. I'm a good listener, somewhat witty, enjoy trying to make people laugh & at the same time still somewhat shy. In my spare time I love traveling, camping, doing crossword puzzles, sudoku, listening to music especially rock n roll 50's/60's music & enjoy 55-56-57 Chevy's. As a hobby I also spent time (1983-2003) recording/figuring out race results in the announcers booth on Demo, Claimer & Mini Figure 8 race nights at Victoria's Western Speedway. In 2000 we went to Scotland for 3 weeks, In 2010 John & I went to Alaska for our 25th Anniversary, in 2015 went to Vegas for the 1st time for our 30th Anniversary. Over the years we have toured in the US in our RV & have done both the Oregon Coasts & Washington Coast. Although not a Ford fanatic my husband is currently restoring a 54 Ford Pick Up & is about 75% finished. My Dad had owned it since the year I was born & is the truck I grew up riding in. Progress is slow right now as John had been diagnosed & treated for early stage prostate cancer, then low blood platelets, liver cancer & eventual liver transplant in 2023, he is currently not doing well though it is not liver rejection, unfortunately he has developed other ongoing health issues. I was devoted to my job & worked hard as an Audit Analyst for the BC Ministry of Finance for 28 years and spent 2 years at Ministry of Health before that & retired at the end of March 2018. f you familiar with Myers Briggs personality profiling (we did this at work a couple times) you may not find it surprising that I'm an ISTP. My family moved from Victoria to Cowichan Bay at the end of the 1976 school year so I actually graduated from Cow High in Drunken Duncan in 1978 but have never forgotten any of my former crushes, boyfriends, classmates, friends or co workers in both Victoria & the Cowichan Valley. Right after grad I got a job & apartment in Victoria & moved back (Duncan was too boring). In 1988 my husband and I moved from Victoria to the Westshore living mostly in Langford until 13 yrs ago when we moved to Colwood. We had an RV (sold it in winter 2016/2017) and loved to go camping whenever we could, he has since had prostate cancer & liver cancer & had a full liver transplant in May 2023 & doing remarkably well. Mom and Dad celebrated their 65th Anniversary in Oct 2017 and I've posted their picture as well as those of my siblings at their 60th celebration in 2012. As of 2017 Mom and Dad were both still living and in reasonably decent health, though Dad had good days and bad as he had arthritis, emphysema and parkinsons and parkinsons related dementia, he passed away November 22, 2017. PS: I have an impeccable memory so don't tell me anything you want forgotten... although these days you may be safe. Though my memory is still sharp, it is starting to fade a little as I get older. I remember lots of stupid unnecessary stuff and less of what is important .
