Leanne's Story
After high school, I carried on to the UofA and got my business degree at the ripe old age of 20. Worked in human resources for the Alberta Government, then in marketing in the IT industry, and am now back at the UofA but earning money this time as a manager of external relations (alumni and fundraising, basically) for the Faculty of Engineering.
Interesting story -- back in 1988, I ended up going on a double date -- with Mr. Newman (chemistry)! A guy I met asked me out to a movie -- asked if I minded if I went with his friend and his wife -- that friend turned out to be Wayne Newman. Strange but true.

We've been married 13 years (as of this writing in 2015), have two boys ages 12 and almost 10, and have 5 political campaigns under our belts now, two of which were successful. I fully expected I would be more involved in things like parent-school council (be honest, wouldn't YOU expect me to be too?), but juggling my husband's and my work schedules doesn't leave much time or energy for extra involvement. Maybe next year ...
Disappointed our class didn't have a 25th reunion many years ago -- guess we'll all have to wait to see each other during our 50th in 2033 when we're old and gray! Or maybe they'll have a 50th anniversary of the opening of SCHS in 2027?
