Lee's Story

Life Soon after graduating, I joined up with a band and had some minor success. Perhaps you heard our song which got some radio play in the summer of '79 called "Roller Boogie Fever". It was also used in the sound track for a movie of the same name. The movie didn't do that well at the box office, but not because of the music. The kids probably weren't ready to accept our star - that fat chick from "Facts of Life" - as a legitimate roller boogie queen. It's a pretty demanding lifestyle as most of you know and Linda Blair was the benchmark in those days, so the bar was set pretty high. But it wasn't long after we hit the big time that I began to contemplate my existence - was there something more to life than groupies and blow? Although I found out later that groupies and blow actually made for a pretty good life - I was still very young and naive, so I left the band and drifted into college at the University of Harvard where I eventually got my PHD in Nuclear Quantum Brain Surgery. I have to apologize since I really don't have space here to explain to you people what that is and it would probably just give you a headache anyway. But, just like with the roller boogie music, I ...Expand for more
eventually found this line of work not as mentally stimulating as I had hoped. I drifted around for a few more years doing some odd jobs - frogman, arena football player (before that got really big), top gun pilot for the CIA (sorry about that whole Iraq WMD thing, that was mostly my bad) - you know, whatever kind of work I could land at the time. These days I think I've finally stumbled onto something I enjoy and keeps my planet sized ego stoked - I'm working in television. You may know me now by my stage name - "Matt Lauer". When I'm not on the set engaging in ridiculous pseudo-banter with that b!tch Meridith Viera, or feigning interest in the insipid droning spewing from some vapid starlet's collagen injected lips, I usually find myself banging around the Hamptons in my limo, drinking cold duck mimosas and hanging out with other quasi-celebrity types such as that guy that played Doogie Howser or one of the more obscure Baldwin brothers. I would love to hear from my other classmates. Feel free to give me a call at the Today Show in New York. Just ask for "Matt A.K.A. Lee" because that's the secret codeword to let them know to put you right through to me personally. See Ya!
