Lena's Story

Life For the last 11 years, I have been married to Sean Prince and have 3 beautiful girls. Sean has been in the United States Air Force since Jan of 92 so we have moved around a few times. We have been to Kansas, Virginia(that was a nice place) and to California. Sean had even went to Korea for a year. Right now we are living in Cheyenne, Wyoming. We have been here since Jan of 2001. The one bad thing about military life is that you do leave family and friends behind. There is alot of good things about it though. You get a chance to meet new friends and you get to see different places. Well here it is Feb 22nd 2003 already. Wow, where does time go? We have been very busy getting ready for yet another move. We have orders to Misawa Air Base in Japan. It is on the north eastern shore of Honshu, Japan's main island. We have to be there by the 30th of May. Lots to do here in such a short time. Wish us luck!! * Here it is Sunday May 18th, and we have been in Japan since May 2nd. We are liking it so far and everyone here seems really friendly. We will be moving into our on base house on Wednesday and we can't wait. Sean & I have gotten our international licences and are looking for a vehicle. We sold what we had before coming here, because they drive on the left and we were unable to bring them. The culture is totally different than that back in the states. The toilets (ff-base & Japaneese) takes a little getting used to. LOL The Japaneese also believes in vending machines and the drinking age is 20. There is alot to do here for families so I think we are going to like it here. April 14th, 2006...Well things are ok in Japan...only 13 more months to go here. We now have two teenagers in the house...and we have a high schooler, a middle schooler and one who is still in grade school....but they grow fast don't they?? Sean is continueously busy with work. He went to the desert for four months and just got back in January (2006) so he wasn't here for our 14th anniversary or Thanksgiving or Christmas. It was hard but we all made it through it. As for me, I am on my fourth college course....But not all too much is happening here besides that though... June 19th 2008: Well we have been back in the US for about 13 months now. We are living in Albuquerque, New Mexico. We now how three teenage girls in the house and two of which are in highschool. Jen will be starting her senior yr, Erika will be starting her sophmore year and Brittany will be starting her eighth grade year come August 11th. (they started summer vacation in May) Sean made Technical Sargeant while we were in Japan. He will test for Master Sargeant for the first time next spring. Sean and I will celebrate our 17th wedding anniversary this coming November. March 6, 2012: Wel...Expand for more
l it has been a few years since I have updated this. We have moved twice since my last post and the girls are growing up. Back in May 2009, Jenny graduated from Highland H.S. in Albuquerque, NM and we got orders to Incirlik AB in Turkey. We moved to Turkey at the end of July 2009. Jen decided to move to Maine. We were in Turkey for two years. Brittany started highschool there and Erika graduated from highschool there. Then at the end of July 2011 we moved to Warner Robins, GA. Erika and Brittany are still at home with us. Brittany is in her junior year of highschool. So yeah we have one left in school....Jen will be 22 in Sept, Erika will be 19 this month and Brittany will be 18 in Aug. Brittany is dating a young man from England and has so for three years now. Erika wants to someday be in the WWE....yep a wrestler!! Jen right now is traveling with her father in an 18 wheeler....he is a truck driver but is thinking about studying childcare...As for Sean, well he just made 20 years in the military in Jan. He can now retire if he wants. We are unsure what he is going to do yet though and we are not sure where we will settle. As for me, well I start my CNA classes next week and will continue working my job as well. Sean and I also celebrated our 20th anniversary this past November....man are we getting old...lol. We also have had a niece and a nephew giving new life to our family. Our nephew on Sean's side, had a son in 2010 and our niece on my side had a baby girl this past December. SO both of our sisters are grandmothers and our moms are great grandmothers. It's been pretty busy the past few years. While in Turkey, I got to fullfill a dream of mine and visit the grand city of Istanbul!!!!! It was AWESOME, EXCITING and BEAUTIFUL!!!! We got to see some interesting stuff, meet some incredible people and eat some awesome food. We also swam in the Mediterranean sea....but as all books comes to an end, this particular book of our life is just about to the end. Not the end of life, just a new one will soon begin....life after the military....stay tuned for updates.... :) School School was okay at times and not so okay at other times. There are people who judge others and they should not do that at all. We are all going through different things and I think our peers should be more conciderate of others.. As of August 2008: I am enrolled at Colorado Technical University online. I am going for an Associates Degree in Medical Coding & Billing. My graduation date is set for November 2009. Military Being a wife of someone in the military can be interesting. One thing for sure is you get to see different places that some can only dream of seeing. Sometimes it gets hard though. Being far from home and making new friends and then leaving to go to a whole new place definiately isn't easy.
