Leticia's Story

I always wanted to be a princess when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a great idea. As it turns out, they were right. I believe that retail therapy with family and friends helps me blow off steam. If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have great hair, great clothes, and make mega bucks to be able to deal with the day-to-day. Having children has taught me not to sweat the small stuff. It will be just fine...most of the time. My current age is 47. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be dead or really old. I was so completely WRONG!. Yes I work hard! My house runs as smooth as a babies butt if I might say so myself. I am very good at multitasking which is a must for not falling over the edge. I share my home with my family and cat, which I find the absolute best thing ever.. I farted the alphabet once...just kidding! No trophies in the last 30 years or so. (Just seeing if you were paying attention) In 10 years, I hope to be a grandmother in my great retirement house with my husband and living close to my children and all of the people I love will live in the same town. I'm going to get there by golly somehow for sure. My first job was at The Broken Bit, where I got paid crap to bus tables. What I remember most about it is I loved working the shifts with Brian Lombardi because I had the biggest crush on him. We ended up eventually going out for 2 years with the normal number of wars expected for 17 year olds in that era. Somehow we lived through the pain. I knew the restaurant world wasn't for me and that I would stay in school and not work at the Badger Dining Room at YHS for Ed Dent in my senior year! Si...Expand for more
nce high school, I lived in Fresno and worked at Rainbo Bakery for 9 years. My current husband worked there also and got a position at the corporate offices in St. Louis, Mo in 1994 when they moved the offices from Dallas, Texas. I too worked there for 3 years. He decided to work at the Atlanta plant offices and got transferred there in 1997. I was 6 and a half months pregnant with my son, Clayton when we moved. I decided to stay home and leave my 12 years with Rainbo Bakery behind when we moved to Georgia. We lived in Georgia until 2003 then we were on the move again to St. Louis until 2005, but a year or so before we moved back to St. Louis in 2003, Sara Lee bought the company. In 2005, Sara Lee wanted parts of the company to move to Chicago and the finance part which is where my husband works, was one of the first to move. I love it here. The schools are great and the neighborhood is full of kids which with having a 10 year old, is a must! My daughter lives in Calif. which I miss everyday, as does the rest of my family and friends. Excluding 1 sister that lives 13 miles from me. We see each other as often as we can and with combining it with cell phones and e-mails, seems to work and it is OUR normal. My daughter is 26 and is working along with going to school. Her life is so in her 20's with the free spirit she has and options like crazy these days, who knows where she'll be in her life a year from now. As long as I can see her at least twice a year and she is happy, I am happy. My son is 10 and entering the 5th grade. He golfs, loves the whole wrestling smack down world, skateboards, and plays endlessly with the neighborhood kids. Life is very good.
