Lewis's Story
Life
I live in Shreveport, Louisiana. I was in the military from September 1955 to October 1981. Joyce and I have been married for 58 years. We have five children, 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. All five of our children live in different locations, - Alaska, New Hampshire, Mississippi and Texas. Thus we have fun traveling to see them and they inturn travel to our home throughout the year on a regular basis.
We have now two Whippets (miniature Greyhounds). Joyce and I keep fit by gardening, fishing, traveling and walking our two dogs daily. We also have a treadmill which we use every other day (and more so on bad days when we cannot walk our dogs).
Four of our children were in the military. All are doing well, all are Catholic and all Conservatives/Republicans. We all are PRO-LIFE.
I was in the military, September 1955 to October 1981 - 26 years. then
5 years with a military outfit in Texas in a civilian personnel position - then
22 years with the United States Postal Service. then
finally retirement in December 2009.
Joyce - worked as a Manager of a Hallmark Card Store for five years. then
8 years with the Lackand AFB Credit Union . then
7 years with a military unit at Randolph AFB Texas, then
6 years with a Casino as Master Banker in charge of all Tellers. - then
5 years with a military unit at Barksdale AFB Louisiana. then

ce group in Shreveport, Louisiana - then
finally retirement in January 2009.
Joyce is English from Coventry, England, so naturally we travel to Coventry regularly. All of her school records were destroyed by the bombing and fire during WWII. Also all but just a few of her school mates did not live thru the bombing (1939-1945). So consequently, Joyce does not have the school spirit as I do.
Joyce was able to have letters from one teacher and one Catholic Priest that knew her and remember her as a student. These two wonderful people wrote letters and with the letters and recommendations from her supervisors at the time enabled her to enroll in a university here in the United States and she eventually graduated with honors from college.
We are so blessed with super children, and their families. All are in good health and all enjoy visiting with us as much as their schedules allow. I gradulated from Pittsburg High School in 1953. I do write to a family that lives just outside of Pittsburg and hopefully we will be able to go see them and catch up on the news.
GOOD NEWS: Joyce and I visited two school friends in Pittsburg, Kansas, in April 2014 (just a couple weeks ago). We had a excellent time and these two friends and their families were so good to us. Pittsburg has changed but so have I. Anyway, I hope Joyce and I return to Pittsburg again and be with our friends.
