Lewis G.'s Story

Life Spent 18 Months in Veit Nam for Uncle Sam, flew out of CCK AB,Taiwan on C-130s for the 776th sq. Resided in Florida for 12 years, moved there in July of 97, I was with Lockheed Martin for 37 years. Have one daughter, one son. Have been married to Nancy for 31 years. Plan to retire here. Like being close to Disney World. Relocated to Fl. in July 97 for Lockheed-Martin Aeronautics Sector, My Daughter(Erika), blessed us with our first grand children, Twins, one boy, one girl. Jackie and Josh. They were born on Sept. 13th 2000, in Largo Fl. My son, Trey, is Wyo. with the Air Force as Missles and Space Electronics Tech. My dream car is a Porsche 550 Spyder, which I hope to own by the end of this year.............. Yes!, I got mine,,,, March of 2001. Retired on 17th of July, 2002. After 37 years with Lockheed. We made a trip to Wyo. in Aug.2002 for the marriage of my son. The drive to Wyo. was nice, everyone should try it at least one time. Next time we fly. As things sometimes happen my wife and I got a divorce on Aug 23, 2006. There were no hard feelings, we just thought we wanted to go different directions with the rest of our lives. My son, Trey and his wife Emily had twins on March 20th , 2007. One boy, Silas, 6lbs. and one girl, Abby, almost 6lbs. Mother and children are now doing good, father is rather happy ! As things sometimes happen,,,,,,,,, I re-married my ex-wife on 2 Nov. of 2007. We decided we needed each other to live. Workplace Working for Lockheed Martin for 37 years, I have experienced many things that others would not dream of. I have been able to work on research and developement projects that were just far out. They were a wonderful company to work for. I also enjoyed the years that I was in management with them. But, the hands on, was by far, the most interesting. Hey, retirement is not too bad either!!!!!!!!!!!~! Military The military life was fun. I learned quite a bit about chain of command and how to load aircraft so they would fly right. Also Had the privilege to carry around part of Bob Hope's show in 1969. To see these entertainers and the way they cared about the troops overseas was the most heartening thing I experienced on active duty. After the active duty thing, I went into the reserves, and spent 23 years with them. Retired in 1998. On Valentines Day 2008 we closed a deal on 40 acres of land in Wyo. We will put our townhouse here in Flordia up for sell and move to cooler weather. My son will most likely be using the land for a flying field for R/C airplanes before we get out there. He does not wait for the Spring Thaw, I will.... Here it is 1-6-09 and still waiting to sell and move. I am sooo happy that I do not "have" to sell right away. Will list the townhouse here in Florida with another realtor on 27 Mar. 2009, looks like the ma...Expand for more
rket might be opening up a bit. Time to try again. Ok, November, 30th, 2009, finally looking at a closing on the 14th of Dec. Did not want to move out there in the Winter, it looks like it will be Christmas in Wyoming! We are looking to have a small, 1200 sq.ft. cabin put on the land out there. Down sizing to make it easier to clean and keep up with. I will miss the critters here, but I am sure there will be some out there. We arrived at Cheyenne, Wy. on Dec 21st, 2009. It took 5 days to drive out here. We did not get in a rush and stopped by to see Carol on our way to Cheyenne. We had a great visit and Nancy learned some of what made our class so close. We moved into our cabin on the 28th of May, 2010. Everything did not happen fast enough for us, but We got to move in. It is nice out here where no one is near you. We got a lot of input from friends on what we wanted in and around the cabin, with their help, this place is nice! The nights are dark and night sky is full of stars, and for a change I can see the Milky Way! Life is good! May, 2011,,, After a year our here in the cold winter, I am happy to say I still like the place. Never lived in cold weather before, I think this is nice. We did not get a lot of snow, so I think that helped. Life is still GOOD! We added a Husky puppy to our family, male, born Nov 14, 2010. He is a bundle of energy! We added another Husky puppy to our family, female born Jan, 2012. With the cold weather out here, the Husky's are great dogs to have. They don't mind the cold as much as our North American Eskimo does. These are super dogs and great family members. June of 2012, Our son Trey, was transferred to Vandenburg AFB in Calif. We did get some time with them before they had to move. Our daughter has found a job with the State out here and is happy with the relocation and the Grandchildren like the school system. Life is still good. 11-6-12 I was elected to the board of directors for the local fire dist and assumed the position of treasurer. This is a volunteer position and am looking forward to learning the system and more about the fire district. 5/31/13 Life is still good! I still like the colder weather out here. Our son is still happy with the move to Calif. He had so much timeout in the cold here, he is very happy to get some warm weather from Calif. Our Daughter, Erika, has rekindled a relationship with a guy she knew 30 years ago. They both had a crush on each other back then and the flame has never died. She is thinking of marriage and relocating to Alabama next year. My daughter, Erika, got married in April, 2014. They will be living in Alabama. So, we moved out here to be with our son, our daughter joined us, and now, we are out here without either of them. Strange how life works. ;-)
