Linda's Story

Life I was born in Louisville, and have deep roots in Mayfield, Kentucky. I was born a Kentuckian and remain a Kentuckian by choice. My father was a coal miner, factory worker and truck driver while Mother owned and operated a local restaurant. On December 18, 1957, just before my eighth Christmas, I lost my father to a drunk driver. I was the sixth of ten children and the first member of my family to attend college, earning a degree in Police Administration from the University of Louisville. I have been married to Bill Greenwell for 36 years and attend All Saints Church in Taylorsville. We reside on a small farm in the Elk Creek Community in Spencer County. We have 4 children, 5 grandchildren. While my children were young, I worked as a tutor in the public school system. As my children grew older, I began working full-time in the medical field, and shortly thereafter, started my own retail business. After selling my business, retirement did not fit my energy level and I began wo...Expand for more
rking for United Parcel Service (UPS). I have a strong work ethic and willingness to go the extra mile, and was recruited to management, serving as an Operations Management Specialist. I retired from UPS in June 2007 to devote full time to the campaign trail For State Auditor of Public Accounts. My mother became ill and in October, had to withdraw from the campaign trail, rendering my bid for the office of State Auditor unsuccessful. I hope the people of Kentucky are looking for honesty and integrity in their elected officials and are willing to get involved to hold them accountable for their actions. Citizens do the hiring by electing the politicians. They need to be reminded that they can be fired. I am a tireless advocate for my community. I am a past volunteer for the American Red Cross and after 35 years, continue to volunteer for the WHAS Crusade for Children. Thank you for taking the time to read my message and get involved!
