Linda's Story
I haven’t travelled far from Mt Clemens, we lived in Chesterfield for a short lwhile and then we moved to Macomb Twp. Where we have lived since 1973. I married Danny Menger from MCHS in 1964. We have two children, Scott and Melissa. Danny worked for Detroit Edison for 42 years. He was forced to retire in 2009 because of health reasons. I taught piano/music for over 10 years and worked for a couple years, as an office manager, this was after the
kids graduated high school. While they were in school, I was a stay-at-home mom. Danny and I were married for 51 years and it was a very happy and wonderful life. Danny passed away after AAA surgery on March 3, 2016. It was the saddest day of my life. But our son and his wife, Sue, moved to Iowa in August, as my son just got a great job at Brownell’s as a Compliance Manager. Scott worked for US Customs for 25 years, retired and than worked for JP Morgan and than Livingston when they bought out JP Morgan. He was offered a job at Trijicon. er and her husband lives in New Baltimore, MI. She has been a Homeschool teacher for the past 11 years and has 2 years to go before both of her kids graduate. My grandson,Timmy, graduated this year and my granddaughter, Bethany, will in 2 years. My son has 3 children, one married (Brittanie) with a 2 year old and a baby born last November. My son also has two step-kids at Michigan State. Maggie & Matt. Next year Maggie will go on to Chicago or California to get her Masters, and Matt, this is his first year at MSU and is studying Electrical Engineering. Right now I’m staying right here. Grief can be a devastating thing to go through. After 51 years it’s like you lost half of yourself. We were 19 when we married and Danny died when he was 70, so we actually grew up together. We went through many things in life and came out great, but that was together. I will miss Danny until I take my last breath and join him with Our Heavenly Father for eternity. That’s been my life since high school. I am so glad I was a part of St. Mary’s. Those memories last forever.
