Linda's Story
Life
For the past tweny-seven years I lived in Northern Ireland with my husband David. We have two boys, the eldest is 23 and has severe learning disability, autism and complex epilepsy. He attends an adult training centre and is very active with charity work.At present he still lives at home but is preparing to move out into supported living in the next couple of years. The youngest is 19 and has just started university in England studying Youth and community developement. rdier and along with our sons belong to the local supporter club for the Northern Ireland soccer team, travelling extensively to cheer them on!
After recieving my A level certificate in Psychology I am now doing a Counselling skills course in the hope that I will be able to effectively help people through one of the many charity support groups that are actively helping people that the official care systems can't. I spent seven years volunteering for the elderly as well serving on many commitees for organisation dealing with learnig disability, autism and family support for families who deal with these.
