Linda's Story

Life - old ver circa 2006? I am very much a mom now. In fact one of my coworkers told me that I was too much the mom - he runs a department and I bailed out one of his workers. Anyway, my son is now six, in Kindergarten and already can't wait for days off. *sigh* - oh well at least he doesn't avoid school but would rather be home playing. Our daughter is 15 months old. She's a hoot. A 180 from her brother. He used to line things up at her age, she likes to destroy anything that's lined up. He would do sign language and didn't speak recognizable words until he was 2, she on the other hand refuses to sign and in fact we can figure out usually what she is trying to say. At least they both like music. She's trying to figure out how to play the video games by watching her brother. She also wants to jump off the back of the couch like her brother did when he was her age. Luckily, we're too quick for her so she hasn't succeeded. She has a lower tolerance for pain than her brother - he would laugh when he ran into a wall, she cries! Both seem to have a daredevil streak in them - must be a toddler thing. They have one other thing in common, he's her favorite and she's his, and they are both ours. Military What can I say. Ok, Suppo was right, I was "far too laid back". But hey live and learn! I still crack up thinking about how I spun him up. I have to say, I wish I knew then what I do now. I might have been able to fit in with the rest of the wardroom. I am happy to ...Expand for more
have served, and would do it again - this time for a longer period! Update 2009: YAY! I am back after a long period of neglect. My profile pic is a bit of a joke -- icanhascheezburger adorns my nameplate outside my office. Lately I have become more political (hint my guy won). Hopefully he can straighten out the mess the last guy left. I am still working for the same customer (18 years!) as a contractor in company number 3. Funny how things go backwards - nuff said. My son is now a brainy 9, and my daughter a talented 4 year old. She taught herself how to skateboard before she turned 4 in the summer of 2008. My son made honor roll this grading period (and earned a bonus/reward for that). Unlike wall street & bank executives, he earned his bonus. If you leave an email, well I might look at this site a few months later - sorry I am involved in an online game called Clanlord which takes up what little free time I do have :) If you sign my guestbook, thank you! Funny how in ClanLord karma is given both good and bad, much it seems like in real life. I am working diligently on polishing away my bad karma. I missed sending out a Christmas letter and card this year, my bad, but hopefully this year I will do better as FlyBaby (flylady.net). Here's hoping you all are safe and not suffering in this meltdown, or in the disasters around the world. I will continue praying for my family and friends, near and far, offline and online.
